The Giants of Darkness begin their fierce attack! Carmeara drives Trigger into a corner and uses a spell to engulf him in darkness. Kengo resists with all his might, but then! A rift in space-time appears, and Kengo is flung back to the past. Now he finds himself 30 million years prior in an ultra-ancient era?!
Tropes
- Bittersweet Ending: More bitter than sweet as the episode ends with Trigger Dark starting his rampage in the present while in the past the Dark Giants successfully take Yuzare and use her to unlock the location of the Eternity Core, with Trigger Dark himself almost taking it. The only reason this isn't a full-blown downer is thanks to Kengo managing to enter Trigger Dark's body with Yuzare's help and starts fighting the Dark Giant for control by the end.
- Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Trigger Dark and Kengo fighting for control of Trigger Dark's body in the past, while in the present the Dark Giant starts his rampage to Akito's and Yuna's distress.
- Cold Opening: The episode opens with Carmeara fighting Trigger while the city is evacuated.
- Darkest Hour: By the end of the episode the Dark Giants have found the Eternity Core in the past with Trigger Dark about to take it; while in the present Trigger Dark starts his rampage to Akito's and Yuna's distress.
- Internal Reveal: Yuna all but outright learns that Kengo is Trigger when Akito cries out Kengo's name in distress in front of her as Trigger Dark rampages.
- Say My Name: After seeing Trigger Dark start rampaging, Akito cries out Kengo's name... Right in front of Yuna.
- Time Travel Episode: Kengo ends up flung into the past by some unknown means leaving him to meet Yuzare in person and witness the Dark Giants personally.
- Wham Episode:
- Trigger is cursed by Carmeara and corrupted back into his original evil form, Trigger Dark. Then starts rampaging.
- In the incident Kengo ends up flung into the past and meets Yuzare, who ends up detecting his status as someone connected to Trigger Dark.
- We get to see the Eternity Core and its location with the Dark Giants coming close to obtaining it.
- Akito accidentally lets it slip that Kengo is Trigger in front of Yuna.
