"Give me that bag, and I won't hurt you!"

"So sad, really. Our little friend Felix will soon be parted from his precious Magic Bag. Soon I, Peking Duck, will possess the Bag and all it's magic! Hehhehehehehehe...."
—Peking Duck while spying on Felix

Felix is spending the day at a carnival with his Magic Bag of Tricks on hand. He takes up a dart game to hit three balloons, and he blows up three with one dart, winning a giant toy as a prize. Realizing it's too big to carry around, Felix whips out the Magic Bag and stuffs the toy inside it. Felix walks up to a Freak Show, with a duck telling him to step right up and see oddities. Felix goes inside, but sees the freak show is anything but—the man who lives underwater is just an old man with a fishbowl on his head, the Bearded Lady has no beard, and the Talking Cat is a lookalike of Felix himself. Felix goes outside and sees a girl lose her balloon, so he uses the Magic Bag to turn it into some stairs to reach it. Nearby, another duck with two sumo chickens for henchmen is spying on him with a telescope, planning on stealing the bag from him. He orders Moo-Shoo (the small one) to take One-Ton (the lil one) and get into position, and announces himself as Peking Duck. Felix steps up to a fortune teller booth, just when he hears an introduction to the "finest magician known to man", Spazmo the Great—which is Peking in another outfit. He asks for a victim from the audience, and trys to hypnotize Felix to come onto the stage, but he puts on glasses, foiling this. Peking creates some balloons to distract Felix, while Moo-Shoo steals his Bag. Felix notices his bag is gone as Peking announces his greatest trick. Felix sees the chickens about to throw Peking the bag, but Felix acts fast, tearing a letter off of a funhouse and using it as a springboard, catching the bag in mid-air. Felix flies facefirst into One-Ton, shattering him like glass. Moo-Shoo grabs the bag again and they run off. The chickens try to get the bag back to Peking, but Felix pulls himself together and uses a swing to grab it back. Felix gets on a ride, thinking he's through with them, just as Peking, who is riding on a ferris wheel, uses a fishing rod to swipe his bag. Felix gets on another ride and swipes it back, only for the chickens to hitch another ride and swipe it again. They throw it to Peking, who heads into a Tunnel of Love ride. While going through it, Felix hides among the animatronics, and once again reclaims his bag, only to be confronted by One-Ton outside. Felix hands him the bag, but then smashes his feet with a mallet. Moo-Shoo gets the bag, but happens to be standing on a Test of Strength game, which Felix quickly drops the hammer on. Felix runs into the House of Mirrors with his bag, with Peking and his henchmen in hot pursuit. Peking tries to weed out Felix inside, but to no avail as Felix goes into a Haunted House attraction. Felix disguises himself as graveyard scenery and heads into a hallway with portraits, where the crooks lie in wait for him. Peking scares Felix and once again gets the bag. He throws some toy balls at Felix, while Felix grabs a toy gun to shoot balls at him. Peking gets tired of dealing with Felix and tries to exploit the Magic Bag, but to no avail as he refuses to obey him. The Bag socks him, and Felix whistles for it to return to his side. Peking tries to use a boxing glove on a spring to attack Felix, but it misses as Felix runs off. They start searching again, but Felix gets an idea and turns his Magic Bag into an elephant to attack them—only for his bag to get distracted by a cotton candy machine. Felix tries to get his bag to stop, but makes it accidentally spray cotton candy onto Peking and his minions, trapping them in it. Peking vows that he won't be defeated so easily, but is distracted when a bunch of kids show up to eat the cotton candy, much to his displeasure, as he hates kids, just as one smothers him under the candy. Felix rides off on his bag, still in elephant form, telling the kids to brush their teeth as the cartoon irises out.

Tropes for Step Right Up:

  • Child Hater: Peking says in the ending that he dislikes children.
  • Extendo Boxing Glove: Peking has one hidden underneath his vest.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: No, Peking isn't going to get away with stealing the bag, much less use it.
  • Punny Name: Peking Duck. It's a Beijing duck recipe, and he has an oriental flair to his design.
  • Shout-Out: The Tunnel of Love ride is an obvious parody of 'It's a Small World'.
  • Spoof Aesop: When Peking is covered with cotton candy in the end while it's being devoured by kids, Felix cracks to them to always brush after meals and snacks as the Magic Bag carries him off.
  • Title Drop: The duck telling Felix to "Step right up!" into the freakshow house.
  • Yellow Peril: Peking Duck is a G-rated variant of this. He's named after a Beijing duck recipe and dresses rather exotically, and he has two sumo wrestlers as henchmen. Not to mention his feathers are literally colored yellow.
