• Badass in Distress: Korra's parents allow themselves to become captives, so they can see their daughter again.
• I Have Your Wife: The Red Lotus send Korra's parents a letter and one of her baby shoes as proof they have their daughter which causes them to willingly comply.
• Heroic BSoD: Korra goes through one after the events of the previous chapter due to believing she did not belong with either the Red Lotus or her friends in Republic City. She starts getting over it after Naga and Tenzin finds her, and she finds out how much her friends care for her.
• Karma Houdini: Despite what Korra did in the previous chapter, Tenzin more or less plans on helping Korra avoid being punished for her actions due to her unique circumstances. The fact she choose not to kill Unalaq and the Red Lotus tried to kill her helps.
• Rescue Arc: Mako and Bolin do their best to rescue Korra's parents which puts a monkey wrench in the Red Lotus' plans.
• Tranquil Fury: The moment she finds out her parents are alive, Korra remains relatively calm, but she is seething with rage to the point Naga becomes a little worried.
• Undying Loyalty: The moment Naga senses Korra's presence, she heads straight for Korra and even swims to reunite with her master.
• Was It All a Lie?: Discussed. While she knows some of the things the Red Lotus are true, she wonders if a number of other things she was told were lies, such as whether Aang was a failure as an Avatar.
