Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 1 E20a Lights Out

Go To

Rabbit borrows Gopher's helmet flashlight but loses it. Pooh thinks that it's his fault and leads an expedition into Gopher's tunnels to find said helmet flashlight.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Easily Forgiven: Pooh easily forgives Rabbit for hiding that he lost the helmet, though for rather Pooh reasons.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: When Piglet decides to go after the others by himself, Gopher realizes that if notoriously timid Piglet can face the dark, so can he.
  • Exploding Closet: When Rabbit opens Pooh's closet to find the shovel that the latter borrowed, everything falls out and buries him.
  • Face Your Fears: Gopher faces his fear of the dark in the climax.
  • Hypocrite: Rabbit is forced to realize this about himself when for all the grief he gave Pooh for not returning his shovel, he failed to return Gopher’s helmet after not asking permission to use it.
  • It's All My Fault: After being chewed out by Rabbit for not returning his shovel, Pooh assumes he lost Gopher’s helmet.
  • It Was with You All Along: Rabbit discovers he left the helmet under his pillow instead of in his garden.
  • Oblivious Guilt Slinging: The other characters believe Rabbit is too smart and responsible to have lost the helmet, only making Rabbit feel guiltier.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Rabbit stole Gopher’s helmet so he could garden overnight, only to tear his garden apart the next day to try to find it after losing it.
  • Stunned Silence: Rabbit has two in response to Pooh being a bear of very little brain and giving him rather nonsensical answers.
