This episode has examples of

  • The Cameo: Sellers plays multiple characters during the episode but the only one who wasn't original or a parody of another character was Inspector Clouseau, who appears briefly in the Cold Open.
  • Cartoon Bomb: One randomly appears in Peter's dressing room as he's trying remember what Queen Victoria looked like.
  • Hats Off to the Dead: At one point, Fozzie tells Kermit that the next scheduled act, Prunella and her Prancing Poultry, has canceled. When Kermit asks why, Fozzie removes his hat and says, "Yesterday, duck hunting season began."
  • Human Knot: In one sketch, Peter Sellers gives Link Hogthrob a rough massage that ends with Link's arms and legs getting tied together, with Sellers even getting his own arm temporarily stuck in the knot. Sellers then exits, leaving Link calling for someone to free him, with Kermit and Fozzie noting that they don't think the sketch was supposed to end that way. Once Link manages to free himself enough to get backstage, though, it turns out that he still enjoyed the massage.
  • Lost in Character: Kermit finds Sellers trying out several different costume pieces and tells him he can just be himself backstage, to which he says "There used to be a me, but I had it surgically removed." This scene is now viewed as an iconic summation of Sellers' true view of himself, able to play such an astoundingly diverse array of characters because he had no true self of his own.
  • Mythology Gag: Sellers uses his Dr. Strangelove voice in a scene with Link, who typically works alongside a character named after the film, Dr. Julius Strangepork.
  • Sanity Slippage: Because of all the teleportation going on, poor Kermit finds himself barely holding together.
Kermit: I'm in the midst of a nervous breakdown!
  • Teleportation: Muppet Labs' new invention is this.

Statler: Well, what do ya think?
[Waldorf vanishes.]
Statler: Yeah, I know what ya... [vanishes mid-sentence]
