The Munsters are excited to meet Marylin's new boyfriend and they're all invited to his parent's costume party.
This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
- Bizarre Taste in Food: When Grandpa helps himself to the concessions, he ignores the food and takes a spoonful of the canned, flaming ethanol gel. He even scoops a spoonful for Mrs. Daily.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: When Grandpa learns that he wasn't invited to the party, he threatens to turn himself into chopped liver and taint the hors d'oeuvres and threatens to hold his breath till "the color comes back to [his] cheeks". While Grandpa has shown to be a vindictive sort later in the show, he wasn't a Manchild about it either, this being something you'd expect Herman to say instead.
- Halloween Costume Characterization: At the party, Marlyn goes as Priscilla, Herman as King Arthur in knight-armor, Grandpa as Napoleon Bonaparte, and Lily as Little Bo-Peep. Lily deliberately picked her's because she found it scary, a sentiment her husband shares.
- You Just Had to Say It: Mrs. Daily ponders that the only way it could get any worse is if it started raining on the night of their party. Smash Cut to it thunder-storming outside the Munster's house and only their house.
- Your Costume Needs Work: When Herman takes off his helmet to show his real face, everyone thinks he's wearing a costume beneath his King Arthur costume. While the crowd genuinely thinks this is the case, Lily thinks he was being insulted.
