A Plot: Adam insists he's old enough to watch A Nightmare On Elm Street with Jackie and her parents, but he ends up being unable to sleep without fear.
B Plot: Erica refuses to wear Geoff's "lame" couples costume to the high school's Halloween party. But after Mr. Glascott convinces her to talk to his class about life after high school, Erica starts to relive her glory days as a popular student.
- The Cameo: Robert Englund, the original Freddy Krueger, reprises the role for Bev's Nightmare Sequence.
- Coordinated Clothes: Geoff wants Erica and him to dress as a package of Halls cough drops and a can of Quaker Oats, so they can go as Daryl Hall & John Oates. He also suggests similar pun-related costumes.
- Gilligan Cut: Erica tries to rent a keg for the high-schoolers, but the clerk won't give her one because she's still underage. He suggests filling it with non-alcoholic beer, and she says that only a loser would do that. Cut to her offering the keg to the high-schoolers, assuring them that it's full of real beer.

- Kids Shouldn't Watch Horror Films: Adam watches A Nightmare on Elm Street at Jackie's house, thinking he can take it. He can't, and becomes scared of falling asleep.
