- Bittersweet Ending: The turnip festival is not the success everyone was hoping for and Geoff ruining the closing event is enough for the magazine to give it a bad review. However, the reception is still good enough to make more people interested in coming to the festival the following year. The episode closes with the Motor Lodge Motel (which was on the brink of closing down) receiving a new wave of reservations and the Misery-meter for Brighton continuing to move away from the red.
- Black Comedy: Scratch accidentally scares the Mayor's goldfish to death, and struggles to get its ghost back inside its body, as well as moving the body to make it seem like it's alive.
- Friend-or-Idol Decision: Scratch has been ordered by the Ghost Council to ruin the turnip festival, but he feels conflicted about it because Molly and Pete worked so hard on it. He comes across a loophole by getting Geoff to ruin it for him.
