Attending Your Own Funeral: The Dukes' scheme to have Boss play dead to fool "Big" Floyd Calloway, an old moonshining rival whom Boss had double-crossed years earlier and has more recently been threatening to murder brutally.
Faking the Dead: Boss agrees to "die" to get Calloway to go away.
The "Fun" in "Funeral": While there is the requisite "fake mourning" shown by Lulu and Rosco and several other bad funeral jokes to boot ... it's subverted as the funeral scenes are played straight (i.e., no "fly buzzing in Boss' face" while Calloway is inspecting the casket).
Although an Idiot Ball moment can be played here – Calloway never once draws his gun and fires bullets into what he believes is Boss' corpse. What better way to make sure that your sworn enemy is dead.
