Gladness, an AI that is on the Global Defense Force's headquarters, was having a regular day monitoring the information flow and communications. As an effective multi-tasker, she can observe several messages at once and easily thwart hacking and virus attempts. She has a conversation with another AI named Jason. Gladness comments on the illogical nature of humans and how often they fight each other, but Jason points out most humans cannot interface with each other like they can. They talk about how their creator Scylla made other AI who have similar capabilities as they do, but also think and behave illogically like humans. Gladness finds it unnerving. They separate and Gladness delivers an updated report on the war against Red Dawn to Admiral Tachibana.

The Admiral and several others go over the information. In attacking 12 Red Dawn bases around the world, the GDF took minimal casualties, while a majority of the 2500+ Red Dawn members are dead. The GDF still doesn't know how Red Dawn has recruited so many people with alien ancestry. They were only able to capture a handful because the Red Dawn members usually choose death over surrender. One prisoner who seems significant is Ravi, who calls herself a "Staress". They pause to wonder what that means, so Gladness chimes in that Ravi may be saying she is a source of light and direction. Ravi sits quietly in her cell, but refuses to talk, and most of their telepaths are busy.

They talk about the weapons they found in the bases. Gladness says Red Dawn has impressive hackers to be able to illegally electronically transmit money to fund their operations and acquire weapons. Red Dawn had also been excavating ancient artifacts, some of which can be used to power energy weapons. Gladness says the artifacts likely come from civilizations that existed before the Toba Catastrophe. She adds that Red Dawn seems to be looking for something, that it troubles her that she doesn't know that it is.

As the group enters the Langoud, Joanne explains that the ship was actually rebuilt from a recovered ship from Atlantis. Inside is a chaotic mess of wires and metal parts, with several robots and workers. What seems to be a hologram of a teacher appears and introduces herself as Scylla, offering to be their tour guide. Her voice is distorted and her image flickers in and out. She reports that the crew is repairing Aschendaele and its pilots are safe. Out of curiosity, Ozaki tries to touch her... and succeeds. She is actually solid. Music starts playing and her form changes into a Siren, similar to the true forms of Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, or Sonata Dusk. Scylla is annoyed at Ozaki for ruining her joke and confesses that she is a Sapient Intelligence, a living digital being. Lauren and Craig are shocked and say they only started doing concept art for the Sirens. Joanne scolds Scylla for hacking into databases again. Scylla scoffs and says entering Hasbro's database is child's play, and hacking into the GDF's database is only slightly harder. Pentecost gets upset that his database has a flaw in its defenses, but Scylla confesses its because she created all the GDF's AI, so they see her as their mother and give her access freely.

They continue their tour and meet Michael "Brazz" Bolson, the chief metallurgist, and Marvin D. Marchan, inventor of the Strontium-90 fission battery. Bolson sometimes works on certain parts of mechas on his personal forge. Marvin is a Brilliant, but Lazy type. Moving on, a robot that looks like an animal nearly attacks them before Joanne gets it to stand down. Lauren comments that it looks like something out of Zoids, and Joanne admits it and its line were based on designs from that show. Gordon points out it is too small to fight a kaiju, so Joanne and Scylla explain they serve to support the Jeagars and friendly kaiju, similar to infantry escort for a tank.

They move on. Scylla turns into a genie. They enter a dark area with a raised platform. A female figure dazzles with a display of magic, forming shapes in the air with colorful flames and lights before forming rainbow wings on herself to fly over to them. She's nine feet tall, covered with white fur, feet like lion paws, and a head looking like a cross between a human, goat, and lion. She introduces herself as Tu'Tori'Al Wylder, or Tori for short. She quickly hugs Lauren, saying her son introduced her to the show MLP: FIM and she quickly became a fan. Craig asks if he can get a hug too, but Lauren kicks him in the shin. Tori offers the others hugs, but they refuse. She blows Gordon a kiss, but he ignores it.

Tori explains that she is a fae called a Glaistig, the adoptive mother of several of the staff, and the head of the magical research department. Serizawa wasn't aware they even had a magical research department. They ask what she was doing when they arrived, and she says it was a typical weekly ceremony she does to keep her magical abilities in practice. Gordon scoffs and calls it a pagan ritual. Tori scolds him and says she's not one of those idiots who worship Satan and thinks it will give them powers. She's the real deal, with tried and true methods. She specializes in fire manipulation and healing spells.

Pentecost points out that Mothra and the Shobijin explained that there is not enough mana in the world to sustain most magical beings. Tori explains that they can survive on radiation for a while, though they would eventually be poisoned, but the discovery of magicite has allowed her kind to thrive. Her division is working on equipment that can run on and replicate spells. She then shocks them by pulling a seven foot long staff out of her cleavage. After explaining she has a spell that can make things bigger on the inside, she then pulls out a plate of cookies and offers them. They accept, and she explains that the magic staff Radiance can fire various types of beams. She is working on mass producing it to hopefully make it standard issue. She's annoyed at how so many members of the GDF distrust magic and hopes to clear up their misunderstandings. Serizawa says that's because they can't really understand it and cannot study it.

Tori goes into Tranquil Fury and says they fear what they don't understand. She gives a big speech saying she's lived for centuries and seen that fear and lack of understanding triggered so many of mankind's atrocities and lead to the deaths of her sister and so many others of her race. She then apologizes and says she's not blaming them for the mistakes of their ancestors, but Serizawa says he understands. His uncle invented the Oxygen Destroyer and sacrificed himself to kill the first Godzilla and take the secret of its formula to his grave. He left behind a letter to his family apologizing for everything and also warning them to be careful of what they learn in the future. Knowledge and discovery can be dangerous. With every new weapon and invention they develop in the war against evil kaiju and aliens, he fears that may make something truly horrifying. Joanne says that's why they have to do their best to understand the potential horrors and prepare for them, instead of ignoring them.

Joanne's son and Scylla's creator Samuel walks in and makes Scylla promise not to compromise security systems again unless authorized. He then says they have a visitor. Scylla starts breaking the fourth wall and he asks her to please stop doing that. Scylla tells Lauren that since Equestria exists, there's a possibility that all fictional universes exist and that their world is a fictional universe. Lauren finds the thought disturbing. Azusa Aoki enters the room. Scylla and Joanne are very happy to see her. Azusa explains that she just got back from an adventure in Equestria (see "Absolution"). Everyone stares at her in shock, then Lauren faints.
