Chapter 5: Ryota POV

Ryota Suzui stirs awake in a bunkbed, quickly realizing he's not where he should be. Looking around for clues, he sees a salmon-haired boy stirring awake on his top bunk. As Ryota calms him from panic and gives him his glasses from the nightstand, they exchange introductions, the boy giving the name Heine Wittgenstein and the impression that he's older than he seems. They agree to cooperate, equally confused about the situation.

On the top bunk of another bed in the room, a boy with pink-tinged orange hair and similarly colored eyes [Satō Mafuyu] stirs, looks at them, and then falls back asleep. Bewildered, Ryota shakes him awake, and he quickly backs into a corner, his expression blank as he asks where he is. Ryota introduces himself but is cut off by a pale-skinned, white-haired, black-eyed man [White Blood Cell U-1146] strangling him, calling him a germ.

Heine breaks the chokehold, scorning the pale man for attacking a minor, and the pale man remarks on Heine's height. As fast as blinking, Heine slugs him in the stomach, declaring he's a full-grown man and ordering the pale man not to call him small. Ryota carefully calms the orange-haired boy as it seems like Heine and the pale man are about to fight. But a scream from outside causes all of them to leave the room.
