The Technodrome is now stranded in a desolate corner of Dimension X. Then manage to send Bebop and Rocksteady to Earth with holographic disguises and a Killer Robot, hoping to activate the transdimensional thrusters beneath the Channel 6 building and bring the Technodrome back to Earth.
Tropes:
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: After the Pretendicon gets knocked on the head, it goes rogue and tries freeing the zoo animals under the belief that it can enact an uprising.
- The Mirror Shows Your True Self: April discovers Bebop and Rocksteady when she sees them through a TV camera for what they really are.
- Mugging the Monster: At one point a mugger threatens the turtles with a knife and demands that they give him their money, Leonardo retorts by drawing his katana blade and points it at the mugger demanding that he gives him his knife. The mugger hastily complies.
- Retcon: The third season finale showed the Technodrome being destroyed as a result of an inadvertent attack by Krang's allies, and then crashing at high-speed into a huge battlestation. This episode premiere changed this to the Technodrome being badly damaged in the attack and then having a relatively soft landing on an asteroid.
- Shout-Out: The episode's title is named after Plan 9 from Outer Space.
