Tropes:
- Gratuitous German: To convince the Godmonster that the island monsters are properly terrifying, Oscar and Hedgehog help out. By dressing up as stereotypical Germanic fairy tale kids.Hedgehog: Good heavens, mein bruder!Oscar: Oh sister, away let us fly!
- Stop Being Stereotypical: Inverted when their Godmonster wants them to be traditional, scary monsters but they don't want to be like that. Then it's revealed their Godmonster doesn't like being a scary monster either and only pretends to act like that because she wants to set a good example for them.
- Your Tradition Is Not Mine: The monsters refuse to scare others and eat children as expected by their Godmonster. As it turns out, she feels the same way as well and only raised them that way because of how her parents did.
