• Bait-and-Switch: Tom is led to believe that Shiv was the one who ratted him out, when it turns out to be Greg.
• Both Sides Have a Point: Shiv is right that ATN is full of Republican vindictive prudes, and Eva is right that Shiv is only allowed in because she’s a Roy.
• Blatant Lies: A few scenes after being uncomfortable with Grace near him, Roman brags that his face is “swimming in pussy”.
• Double Standard: Shiv’s candidate is pissed off that her husband’s asshole is getting dragged by ATN, and complains this wouldn’t be happening to a man and his wife.
• Excrement Statement: Kendall talks back to Logan on data mining, so Logan pisses in his son’s office.
• Freeze-Frame Bonus: Kendall never actually gets to do his speech, but the camera gets a few glimpses of his chickenscratch handwriting and ‘jokes’ that his dad will never die.
• Hypocritical Humor: Roman makes fun of Kendall for being annoyed that Logan is back, before immediately getting pissed that Frank is back in his position.
• Think of the Children!: The husband of Shiv’s democratic candidate showing his asshole gets leaked to ATN, and they brainstorm how to get their viewership righteously angry.
• Trying Not to Cry: Once Tom learns the extent of what happens in Cruises, he lets Greg in on it while trying to be cheery and not burst into tears.
• Your Mom: After telling Tom that he can’t do a press conference and he asks how she knows, Gerri dismisses him by saying his mom talks in her sleep.
