Chapter 58

Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:

  • For Want Of A Nail: Thanks to Miwa catching the canister of mutagen, the garbage man isn't turned into Muckman.
  • Insanity Immunity: Shredder manages to No-Sell Rockwell's psychic attack, a feat that, according to Rockwell, only those already insane can accomplish.
Rockwell: Oh. For a second I forgot who I was talking about.
  • No-Sell: While Malachi was able to conjure an illusion of Tang Shen for Bebop and Rocksteady to chase after, the Shredder sees it for the fake that it is. Later, he manages to No-Sell Rockwell's Psi Blast with his Insanity Immunity.
  • Open Secret: Unlike in canon, the people of New York are fully-aware of the Mighty Mutanimals, being seen as local celebrities or superheroes with Kurtzman as their unofficial publicist. Unfortunately, it has made more covert operations with the Hamatos more difficult since people are actively looking for them, requiring Malachi to use his illusions more than ever, just to get by unnoticed.
  • Shout-Out: Malachi shouts "Have at thee!" when placed at the Shellraiser's garbage cannon.
  • Wham Episode: Using a mind-controlled Leo, Shredder now has Tang Shen.
