Episode 1:
The Curtain Rises! The New Combat Revue
It's the year 1941. Seijuro Kamiyama rescues Klara M. Ruzhkova, the sole survivor of the original Moscow Combat Revue, from being pursued by demons in Petrograd. One week later, Kamiyama returns to Tokyo to reunite with the Imperial Combat Revue's Flower Division, now led by its temporary captain Sakura Amamiya. However, as Kamiyama shows Klara how the Flower Division works as a theater and fighting troupe, a demon raid suddenly occurs...
This episode provides examples of:
- Action Prologue: The first two minutes of the episode are spent showing a Traintop Battle in Europe where Leyla in her demon form pursues Klara and White Cape, only for the demon to be stopped by Kamiyama, Elise and Lancelot.
- Call-Back:
- While in the dressing room, Claris writes yet another stage show, which echoes back to the time where she wrote her first show in the 2019 Sakura Wars.
- In the second half of the episode, the Flower Division wear uniforms similar to the ones worn by the previous Flower Division at the end of the 1996 game and at the beginning of Sakura Wars: The Movie.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: When Sakura goes to meet Kamiyama at the door, she's less than thrilled to see Klara next to him. After discussing with the other girls who she could be, she sneaks away to find out for herself.
- Family of Choice: While discussing the situation with Klara, Kamiyama admits to Sakura that he thinks of the Flower Division as family.
- Musical Nod: "A Star is Born" is once again featured in the musical scene. This time around, it's performed by the Flower Division.
- Oh, Crap!: Komachi panics when she sees that the demons are launching another assault on Tokyo.
- Stock Footage: In the first trailer, there are reanimated clips of the opening sequences from the previous games, which are hidden in shadows.
- Traintop Battle: Kamiyama, Lancelot and Elise thwart Leyla's attempt to kidnap Klara and White Cape on the top of a train car.
