    • Lopresti is brutally mauled by Penders's guide dog after he shoves Penders's face into dog poop just to be an asshole.
    • Guenzel dies during a failed escape attempt that Schillinger manipulated him into.
    • Kirk is convicted for the murder of Jim Burns and is likely to be given the death penalty as result, but given everything he's done up until that point, it comes off as a well-deserved comeuppance.
  • Disappointed in You: Said's reaction to Beecher selling Guenzel to the Aryans.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Ryan doesn't understand how Meehan could care about someone he doesn't know.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Schillinger meets with a higher-ranking member of the Aryan Brotherhood to figure out what to do with Robson.

    • Augustus doesn't give up Poet for selling him the drugs.
    • Hoyt only agrees to acknowledge Max Sand's involvement in their misdeeds when Glynn guarantees the death penalty will be off the table.
  • It's All About Me: Gyrobile cares more about his reputation with other prisoners than Rebadow's dying grandson
  • It's Personal; Glynn is determined to make Timmy pay for what he did to Mukada as Mukada is his friend.
  • It's All My Fault: Beecher justifiably blames himself for Guenzel's situation.
  • Kick the Morality Pet: After Cyril is sentenced to the death penalty, Ryan lays into Suzanne in a very cruel way.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Faraj orchestrates things so that Robson is humiliated in front of the whole prison and kicked out of the Aryans.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Ryan tricks the guards into murdering Jia by lying to them that he's been bad mouthing them.
  • Not Me This Time: Guerra gets the blame for supplying Hill with the drugs.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Sister Pete's well-meaning attempts to help Guenzel lead to Schillinger deciding he's a liability and having him killed.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Kirk's attempt on Mukada's life leads to Glynn cracking down even harder on him and finding a way to prove Kirk ordered the hit and killed Burns.
  • Papa Wolf: Redding attacks Morales when he is led to believe that Guerra supplied Augustus with the drugs.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Alvarez giving the guide dog he trained to Rivera turns out to be entirely well-meaning. He even trained the dog to respond to commands in both English and Spanish, having guessed Rivera spoke Spanish at home.
    • Vern pushes for leniency on Robson's behalf after it is outed he may have a black man's gums and tries talk his boss out of kicking him out from the brotherhood. Even when he is forced to exile him, he is torn up about it and praises Robson for his loyalty to his men.
    • McManus offers to look at every single prisoner's file to find a donor for Rebadow's grandson. Rebadow is very moved by this.
  • Undying Loyalty: Despite Said's disgust with Beecher's actions, Said doesn't reveal anything to Sister Pete.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Kirk has a pathetic one after Glynn orders him sent to solitary, reacting in complete pitiful disbelief.
