• Ate It All: A good way of showing how much of a jerkass Georgia is was how she at all the food that was meant to be for Ash and his friends.
• Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Excadrill finally gets over his fear of failing Iris, and begins obeying her again.
• Call-Back: This episode is an obvious replica of the past episode “Charizard Chills.”
• Forgiveness: Ever since they lost to Drayden, Excadrill has shut Iris out and wouldn't listen to her commands in battle. However, after listening to Cilan's advice, Iris ends up regretting her past actions and tearfully apologizes to Excadrill. Hearing her heartfelt apology, Excadrill decides to forgive Iris and renew their bond.
• Jerkass: Georgia. First, she degrades Iris for being a dragon-type trainer. Second, she eats all of the breakfast Cilan cooked, and even expects him to cook for her the next time she meets with him.
