Animate Inanimate Object: Rotom's main ability is to take over different types of appliances and use their abilities. It took over an oven allowing it to breathe fire, a refrigerator allowing it to expel snow, a lawnmower attempting to run over the others, and a fan to blow them away.

Demoted to Extra: Team Rocket barely does anything in this episode besides hide food from each other, get trapped in a room and eat fake Old Gateau. They don't even encounter the twerps once.
The Prankster: The Rotom in this episode takes great pleasure in scaring Ash, his friends, and Team Rocket by hiding in various appliances. Even at the end of the episode when it seems like it was only messing around with Ash and others because it wanted the company, it turns out it really was messing with them for its own amusement.
Right Behind Me: In an Overly Long Gag, Fridge Rotom sneaks up behind Brock and reverts whenever he turns around. They only desync after a few repetitions.
Slasher Smile: Rotom has a particularly menacing one when it possesses a lawnmower.
