Mr. and Mrs. Cake are standing outside their foals' nursery, contemplating whether they are ready to start potty training that day, or not. Mrs. Cake is a bit hesitant because it's a big milestone, but Mr. Cake says that it's better sooner than later.
When they finally decide to potty train their twins, they wake them up, much to their surprise as the twins have never been woken up that early before. Mr. Cake tells them that it's time for a surprise, which gets their attention. They become more excited in the foyer when Pinkie Pie mentions that she's very excited and planning a party related to the surprise, but are a bit confused when their parents take them to the bathroom. After all, what's so special about a bathroom?
Mrs. Cake has the twins close their eyes, and then brings out two potties to use. This makes them grumpy as they don't want to give up their diapers, but their parents just laugh and teach them how to use the potties. When they flush the toilet to demonstrate, however, the twins think the toilet is a monster and run out of the room.
In the nursery, the twins contemplate the situation and decide to discuss it with Pinkie Pie. When they reach her, she's already decorated for a "Potty Party" and believes the twins have used the potties. The parents enter, looking dour, and reveal to Pinkie that the twins didn't use their potties, so she decides to take them to the bathroom and have a go at it herself.
In the bathroom, Pinkie Pie has the twins try to flush the toilet, with Pumpkin going first. They are very nervous, but when they actually do it and see that it's harmless, they come to enjoy it.

- Dirty Coward: The twins briefly become examples when both of them suggest their sibling do the flushing so they'll be safe. It quickly ends when Pumpkin says that she doesn't want to die before Pound.

- Like Brother and Sister: Pound refers to Pinkie Pie as his and Pumpkin's "big sister".
- Not a Morning Person: When Pound first wakes up, he thinks it's too early.

- Would Hit a Girl: Discussed when Pumpkin is just as concerned that the toilet (which she and Pound think is a monster) will eat her as Pound. In fact, Pound wonders if the toilet only eats girls since he only heard it flush when Mrs. Cake pressed the handle.
