Recap / Our Cartoon President S3E02 "The Economy"

Go To

The Economy is forsaking America and the Trump Family are trying to reignite the country's faith in the Economy to keep up his reelection chances.

This episode provides examples of:

  • The Almighty Dollar: Trump uses religious language to equate the Economy as that of a Abrahamic God.
  • Blessed with Suck: Bill Clinton sees his nigh-invulnerable reputation as more of a curse than a blessing.
  • Epic Fail: Larry Kudlow recommends that the economy can be saved by injecting 5-trillion dollars into the banks with tax-payer cash. All that happens is that the bankers keep all the money for themselves. What makes this especially damning is that not only does it happen within the span of two minutes, but this wasn't a one-time thing.
  • Human Sacrifice: When the Sensate unanimously votes against making a tax-hike for the wealthy, Trump tries sacrificing his son Eric as an offering to the Economy.
  • Skewed Priorities: The economy is tanking and Biden has absolutely no idea what he's doing, yet all he care about is singing "Milkshake U.S.A." and trying to remember its lyrics. It gets so bad, Chuck and Nancy pawn him off to AOC (who has been established to be on opposing sides of the party).
  • Take That!:
    • Eric repeatedly mentions that the Trump Hotel-chain is overpriced and rat-infested.
    • The episode ends with Trump remarking that no matter how bad the economy gets, they won't be effected by it because they're rich.
