"TinFinity" is the eighteenth episode of New Girl's second season.
Schmidt plans a garden party to celebrate his tenth anniversary of living with Nick, which leads to some tension between the two. Shivrang and Cece consider getting married.
Tropes in this episode:
- Disgusting Public Toilet: Nick's job for his and Schmidt's 10th Anniversary Party was renting a toilet. He winds up buying a disgusting portapotty that the owner said was garbage. Jess agreed to use it to make him feel better, but couldn't last even a second in there.
- Grand Romantic Gesture: After a very unromantic proposal, Shivrang proposes to Cece at the party with a romantic speech, music, and lights (Schmidt had intended this cue to be for his toast). She says yes.
- Mistaken for Gay: When telling his mother he's going to a party to celebrate Cece's friends living together for ten years, Shivrang has to clarify that they aren't gay.
- Strawman Emotional: In order to get over Nick, Jess decides to get with someone who is his total opposite. She sets her sights on brawny football player Jax, who instead falls in love with her all too quickly. She is turned off.
