After being plagued with a serious case of artistic block, Izzy goes on a magical journey to unblock her creative juices that leads to one of the greatest creations of her life.

- Bait-and-Switch Comment: When the Mane 6 are singing and dancing in the beginning, Posey asks if this is a flash mob, seemingly in annoyance like usual. Only to then say she loves it and join in with a crowd of other ponies.
- Call-Back: Allura and Twitch make a new hideout from the cave Pipp and Zipp were trapped in during "Portrait of a Princess".
- Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each shard of the Nova Charm is a different color to represent each of the Mane 6 and merges with their corresponding Boardtrot attraction: Orange for Sunny, Purple for Izzy, Yellow for Hitch, Pink for Pipp, Red for Zipp, and Blue for Misty.
- Dismantled Macguffin: Once Izzy’s magic has finished repairing the Boardtrot, the Nova Charm shatters into six multi-colored pieces and merges with the attractions of their corresponding Mane 6 member.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: When Twitch is almost blasted by the Nova Charm, Allura dives to save him, telling him to look out.
- Extra-Long Episode: This episode is 22 minutes long rather than the usual 5.
- Mythology Gag: When Izzy is powered up by the Nova Charm, her mane and tail develop rainbow streaks, much like the Mane Six did when they attained the "Rainbow Power" in the fourth season finale of Friendship is Magic.
- Vision Quest: Izzy goes on a solo quest to unclog her creative juices at her friends’ suggestion, and along the way, she sees various places and meet various people who give her helpful advice on how to deal with artistic block:
- The peaceful Auroricorn invites Izzy to dance with the stars with her, teaching her that “play is the way” and that she can do out and do something she enjoys whenever she needs a break instead of focusing solely on her block.
- As Blaize and Tumble teach her, one doesn’t always know how things will turn out, so instead of doubting yourself and hesitating to push forward on something, sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.
- Destiny tells Izzy that seaponies believe laughter to be the greatest of medicines that can cure anything, and she ends up laughing quite a bit with Izzy and shows her that sometimes a laugh and a smile is all you need to help improve your mood and mindset.
- Wham Episode: After tapping into her true creative potential and restoring the Boardtrot into a paradise for her, her friends, and the ponies of Maritime Bay to play in, not only does Izzy gain a new magical form, but the Nova Charm splits apart into six different pieces and merges with the Mane 6 themed attractions, meaning that Allura and Twitch will no longer be able to use it for their plans.
