Air date: May 16, 2020 (CBC); March 24, 2021 (PBS)note

"Going Toe-to-Toe with a Dinosaur":note  Molly and Vera accompany Dr. Benedict and paleontologist Dr. Batra to a dinosaur dig site.

"Going Toe-to-Toe with a Dinosaur" contains the following tropes:

  • All There in the Script: The credits reveal that Dr. Batra's first name is Amara.
  • Given Name Reveal: Vera's last name is revealed to be Malakas in this episode. Since it's a Tagalog name and Vera's mother is her Filipina parent (her dad is Athabascan), this suggests that either Vera wasn't given her dad's name, or her dad took her mom's name when they married.
  • Imagine Spot: Molly and Vera imagine what Alaska looked like when dinosaurs lived there.
  • Kids Love Dinosaurs: Vera adores dinosaurs and wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up.
  • Pun: Walter is very pleased with himself for coming up with his "dino-mite" pun.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Dr. Batra's voice actress seems to be going for something between an English accent and an Indian accent, with some possible Kenyan influence (the VA is Kenyan-Canadian).

"Sassy Ladies on Ice": Molly joins the Sassy Ladies of Saskatoon on a hike to a glacier—only to find it's retreated.

"Sassy Ladies on Ice" contains the following tropes:

  • The Bus Came Back: The Sassy Ladies of Saskatoon return.
  • Leitmotif: The Sassy Ladies have a country-style one that incorporates horse whinnies.
  • Meaningful Rename: Downplayed. The Sassy Ladies drop the "of Saskatoon" part of their name when they invite Molly and Layla to officially join.
