- Contrived Coincidence: The old man the gang gets stuck in the elevator with was one of the guys robbing the bank in the opening, who used the money to build the dinosaur island Mike destroys in the opening and the giant moving statue flies through in the opening and was also the kabuki performer Mike punches in the opening.
- Elevator Failure: A towel gets jammed in the door, causing it to get stuck.
- Gainax Ending: The hotel employee heard a The Voice at points throughout the episode turns out to be the white tiger from the intro, who kills the old man and then takes the team to what is apparently the only place on Hawaii where you can see snow. Even for this show that's...strange.
- Opening Shoutout: Essentially, this episode serves to give context to the entire opening animation.
- Vocal Dissonance: The tiger from the intro has the voice of a friendly young, heavily accented Hawaiian man.
