- Bad Liar: The Kobold who cut up Mganda's tree. It doesn't help that no one trusts him (he's a kobold), but it seems like he's not even trying, most of the time.
- Chekhov's Gunman: It's pretty obvious who the Red Herring and the real killer are from the word go.
- Kick the Dog: The kobold really screwed Mganda over when he cut down her tree.
- The Missus and the Ex: Once again, Bo and Ciara are forced into proximity. Bo does not approve. Until she starts liking Ciara.
