- Alone Among the Couples: Bo, at her birthday party.
- Bittersweet Ending: Bo succeeded in her quest to cure Nadia and getting a really nice birthday party with all of her friends, and her two loves are both with other people. Also, the only thing anyone seems to know about her is that she needs weapons...
- Both Sides Have a Point: Bo argues that the shaman has no right to play judge, jury and executioner with other people's lives, and the shaman points out that plenty of the people who he's cursed deserved it (citing the examples of an abusive husband and a traitorous soldier who led his men into an ambush as examples) so she has no right to arbitrarily end their curses.

The Cast Showoff: Ksenia Solo (Kenzi) shows off her skills on the drums. - Chekhov's Gun: The sand Bo snags from the Preta's den and uses to destroy the shaman's stock of curse nails.
- Fate Worse than Death: Normally, the life of a Preta would be a punishment for something, an unquenchable thirst being Laser-Guided Karma in some conceptions of hell. For the Preta it's just... what they are. And they hope one day to quench their thirst. Ick.
- Foreshadowing: Trick gives up his dead wife's bracelet so Bo can trade it for a healing mask in her quest to uncurse Nadia, then he gives her his wife's sword-cane as a birthday present...
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Bo agrees to help Lauren by uncursing Nadia on the condition she never tell Lauren about it. When it's done, Bo sees them together and walks away without saying anything.
- Jerkass: The Preta is determined to cheat and not let Bo and Dyson leave with the mask, so he starts to cheat.

Magnificent Bastard: Lachlan manipulated Bo into curing Nadia and never saying anything to Lauren about it in order to secure Lauren's loyalty and undivided attention. - New Old Flame: The guy who used to live next door to Kenzi, when she was a kid. She used to have quite the crush.
- Rules Lawyer: The Fae at the counter in the Fae Travel Agency insists you take a number. Even when the agency is completely empty.
- Surprise Party: Kenzi spends the episode setting up one for Bo.
