"I'm afraid that... if you [Daniel] keep this stuff up... something bad is gonna happen. You need to take this more seriously. These ceremonies are secret for a reason. There are people whose lives are dedicated to keeping them that way!"
Bree being rather out of character, "Daniel, Be Careful"
Dates Posted: (2006) October 17, 19, 20, 22, 24-26, 28, 30, 31, November 1-3, 5, 7

Daniel's discoveries in the last few episodes lead to Bree questioning her life. An old friend of Bree's, Gemma, begins posting videos in support of Bree, but this won't be enough to keep Bree and Daniel's lives from changing forever...

"Daniel, Be Careful": Bree says she finally got around to watching Daniel's last two videos. She tells Daniel that he violated the sacredness of the Ceremony and warns him that something bad might happen if he doesn't stop. She says she'll try to figure out why Lucy has pictures of him and closes by asking Daniel to call her.

"Where's Daniel?": Bree addresses the video to Daniel and says she doesn't know where he is and that he won't pick up when she calls his cell phone. She says his parents said he went away with some friends. She says she's worried and needs to talk to him.

"Nut Kills Man": Gemma, apparently one of Bree's old friends, introduces herself, and talks about an odd variation on rock-paper-scissors.

"I'm Hiding Out": Daniel says he's staying at a friend's house. He recaps what's happened to him over his past few videos, and says he doesn't think Bree's parents know about any of what the Order is up to. Daniel asks Bree why she's still meeting with Lucy if the Ceremony's over and why they took pictures of him. He says he'll call her when he can.

"I Lied To Daniel": Bree says she just got done talking to Daniel, then reveals she's been lying to him and that the "ceremony" she completed was a fake. She says she's still doing preparations for the real Ceremony, but Lucy won't tell her what's involved or when it is. She signs off saying she'll meet with Daniel to figure it all out.

"Living In London": Gemma talks about the differences between life in a big city like London compared to her old life in the commune.

"I Listened To Daniel": Bree says she just got done talking to Daniel at Daniel's friend's house, and he told her about everything that's been happening to him. She says Lucy isn't answering any of her questions, that she doesn't know the names of anyone involved in the fake Ceremony, and that she doesn't think her parents know what's been happening or even what's in the shots she's been getting. Bree says she's going to tell her parents everything and tell them she won't go through with the Ceremony. She hopes they're not disappointed, but says it's too dangerous now.

"Hi Gemma!": Bree greets Gemma and asks how she and her dog have been. She says she used to live with Gemma when she was in England.

"It's Not Your Decision": Gemma warns Bree that the Order probably won't respect her decision to back out of the Ceremony. She tells a story of when she liked a boy named Sam. Gemma's parents then found out and forbade her from seeing him again. She finished by telling Bree that it is her decision on whether to trust the Order or defy them.

"I Talked To My Parents": Bree says that she talked to her parents about everything that's happened since the fake Ceremony was set up. She says it turns out they've been having doubts about the Order too, as Bree's dad found it strange he was told keep giving Bree shots after the fake Ceremony. Bree said her parents would talk to the Deacons (higher-ranking members of their religion) and tell them Bree isn't doing the Ceremony. She also convinced her parents to let Daniel come over again and that he'll be back tomorrow.

"Proving Longitude Wrong": Bree discusses longitude. She talks about what longitude is and tells an apocryphal story about the death of Sir Admiral Cloudesley Shovell. She finishes with her own moral to the story and signs off.

"Thanks Gemma...": Bree thanks Gemma for her concern, but says that she trusts her parents now that they've listened to her concerns about the Ceremony and admitted they were wrong for blindly following the Order.

"They Disappeared...": Gemma tells Bree about another girl chosen to do the Ceremony, who underwent the same preparations Bree did. She says the girl's family disappeared after that Ceremony. Gemma says the letters her commune got from them afterward sounded very different from the family's previous tone.

"What Makes Us Sad?": Bree wonders why sad things happen, and discusses what animals do when they're sad. She gives her opinion on why people get sad, then says that her parents talked to the Deacons. When they came home, they were sad and didn't tell her what had happened. She says she'll talk to them again after the video.

"Life's Not Fair": Bree sits down at her desk and says that when her parents talked to the Deacons, there was a big argument. The Deacons said Bree couldn't back out of the Ceremony this late. Bree says she doesn't want to the Ceremony, but she's scared because she's never seen her parents like this. She's decided to go and hang out at Daniel's house for a bit. She has a bag packed and she says goodbye.

"Still At Daniel's": Bree tells the audience she spent the night at Daniel's house and Daniel slept on the couch. The camera shows he is still sleeping on the couch. Bree goes to another room and says her parents told her to stay at Daniel's house. She says she doesn't know how she can "stay" at Daniel's house, then ends the video saying she'll wake Daniel up.

"Where Are My Parents?": Bree says she can't get in touch with her parents. Her and Daniel have decided to go back to her house.

"Horrid Flatmates": Gemma says she hasn't heard from Bree lately and hopes she's doing well. Gemma decides to complain about how bad some of her past flatmates have been. She says that the bad experiences have helped her appreciate different lifestyles, then signs off with the hope she'll hear from Bree soon.

"On The Run": Daniel drives Bree back to her house. They get there and, from a distance, see Lucy and someone Bree identifies as a Deacon leading Bree's parents into a car and driving off somewhere. The video cuts to Bree and Daniel at a trainyard. Daniel says that after everyone else left, Bree went into her house and found a note and some cash hidden in P. Monkey. He says they didn't think it was safe at Daniel's place, so they've started living on the road. After another cut, Daniel is filming the inside of his car. He says that's where they slept last night. The two of them kill time on the road for a bit. Bree cleans herself in a public bathroom after not doing any hygiene for a couple days. Daniel decides to check into a motel, and the video ends.

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: From "Proving Longitude Wrong":
Bree: Because if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you're going. And... you might run into things that aren't supposed to be there. (glances at Daniel) Like Danielbeasts.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Daniel directly asking Bree in "I'm Hiding Out" why the Order took pictures of him finally gets her to stop blindly following their instructions as of the next video.
Daniel: And those photographs, Bree. Why'd they take pictures of me?
  • Artistic License – History: In "Proving Longitude Wrong", Bree tells the story of Sir Admiral Cloudesley Shovell, who, while sailing home to England, steered the fleet into some rocks and died along with most of the crew.
  • Batman Gambit: The Ceremony Daniel filmed was actually a fact, created with the hope that Daniel would follow Bree and try to film the Ceremony, allowing the Order to begin following him instead.
  • Breather Episode: After a series of intense videos all advancing the plot, "Proving Longitude Wrong" is the first video in a while that's just one of Bree's old goofing-around type videos, specifically being her first "Proving Science Wrong" installment in a long time.
  • Conviction by Contradiction: Downplayed. Daniel notes in "I'm Hiding Out" that Lucy and Bree are still meeting, and that it makes no sense if the Ceremony's over with.
  • Nothing Is the Same Anymore: "Life's Not Fair" is the last episode filmed entirely in Bree's bedroom, and marks the point where videos filmed as traditional vlogs start to become the minority in the series.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: As the page quote shows, Bree in "Daniel, Be Careful" is unusually serious and borderline threatens Daniel over his filming of the Ceremony. There is an implication in "I Lied To Daniel" that she may have just been saying what the Order wanted her to, however.
  • Questioning Title?: "Where's Daniel?" Somewhat amusingly, the title of Daniel's next video answers the question, with "I'm Hiding Out".
  • The Reveal: That the Ceremony Daniel saw was a fake, specifically created to catch him, and Bree is still preparing for the real thing.
  • Secret Test of Character: Discussed by Bree. She wonders if all the stuff happening is supposed to be some kind of test of her trust of the Order.
  • Shout-Out: In "Still At Daniel's", Bree compares Daniel being too big for the couch to Gulliver living among the Lilliputians in Gulliver's Travels.
  • Spoiler Title: Guess what "I Lied To Daniel" reveals. Although the bigger reveal is what she was lying about, namely that the Ceremony two weeks earlier was the real thing, when in fact it was a trap to catch Daniel.
  • Suspicious Missed Messages: In "Where Are My Parents?", Bree's parents aren't answering her many repeated calls. Two episodes later and we learn it's because members of the Order were taking them away somewhere.
  • Time Skip: "On The Run" takes place over the course of four days, with lengthy skips between different days.
  • Wham Episode: "On The Run" has Bree's parents get taken somewhere by Lucy and the Deacon, forcing Bree and Daniel into a life on the run.

"Everything... has gone way too far. Anyway, I'm gonna go over to Daniel's for a bit. So... bye."
