Converting for Love: Nellie – who just a season earlier had cruelly made remarks about Albert when he became friends with a Jewish carpenter – somehow had seen the light by the time she meets Percival. It's only later she realizes that he's Jewish … but by then, Nellie has grown to at least tolerate and respect his faith, and it ultimately is a non-issue. (Percival, by the way, never has an issue with Nellie's Protestant upbringing.) In fact, Word of God is that Nellie becomes a staunch defender of Percival when others hate him because he's Jewish.
Love at First Punch: When Percival finally loses his patience with Nellie and calls her out, he dumps a bowl of eggs and batter over her head … and tells her he actually thinks she's pretty! Nellie snaps … in a way no one expects!
Puppy Love: Spoofed. After Nellie's marriage, three-year-old Grace mimicks the bride and Laura when the latter kisses Almanzo (celebrating that they'll be allowed to marry in a year) by kissing a little boy her age. Charles spots this and jokingly warns her that she'll have to wait until she's 18. Cut to a shot of the little boy mumbling "I love her", followed by an onscreen graphic reading "To Be Continued...", which is shown for several seconds before another graphic pops up underneath reading "In Fifteen Years".
Redemption Quest: The episode where Nellie began to grow up, show respect to others and become the mature, responsible, hard-working woman she would become.
Wedding Finale: The final act has Nellie and Percival get married ... and Charles tell Laura she can get married in six months! (Laura does catch the bouquet, however.)
