Bait-and-Switch Comment: at the end, when the group decides to buy on first class tickets so they can have a well-deserved comfortable trip home, the conductor announces that he won't allow the black Henry Hill there, so all the others move to the cargo caboose with him, except Murphy, who'd spent the whole trip dismissing Henry wirh racist remarks, but seemed to be having a change of heart. When Murphy joins them later, he says the conductor "booted him out of too", and then completes that he "found out I was Irish". See above:
"Everybody Laughs" Ending: The twist at the end of the episode causes all the men to erupt in uproarious laughter.
Forgotten Birthday: Caroline was so stressed about Charles taking a dangerous job that she forgets about her own birthday and is surprised when the girls greet her with a cake they made themselves.
Nitro Express: Charles and Mr. Edwards take the job, where they need to transport bottles of blasting oil. Any temperature shift or major bump can blow them to bits.
