The team try to stop the closing of a factory by pulling off a uniquely difficult con that involves manipulating the mark's dreams.
- Alice Allusion: A few:
- The mark is named "Charles Dodgson", which was also Lewis Carroll's real name.
- His junior executive is named "Carroll."
- The factory foreman who hires Nate and crew is named "Alex Liddell", a gender flipped version of the real Alice's name.
- Dodgson descends into the lower level of the factory by chasing after Parker when she's wearing a white coat, making her a stand-in for the White Rabbit of the title.
- Chekhov's Gun: When Elliot talks about the sleeper drug cocktail, he notes it is ineffective if someone has ingested a drug to keep one awake prior to being given it. Later, when the mark gets a caffeine drink from his lawyer, it causes the con to become unraveled.
- Easily Forgiven: Charles does not appear to harbour the team any ill will after they drugged him, gaslighted him, purposely induced panic attacks, and scared him enough that he nearly jumped off a roof, even regarding their manipulation of him as a needed intervention, despite the fact their actions were deeply invasive and arguably more extreme than anything they'd done to an actual bad person.
- Gaslighting: Probably the most unnerving and uncomfortable examples in the entire series.
- Honest Corporate Executive: The team get hired by a low-ranking one to save the company from CEO Charles Dodgson, but also to save Charles from himself, and Charles and his right-hand man also show shades of this as the episode progresses.
- My God, What Have I Done?: The mark's main trouble is his tremendous guilt he suffers from failing to answer a call years ago from his cousin who needed him. He learned the next day she had died and has slowly been killing his company out of guilt because he put the company first and it cost him the life of one he loved deeply.
- No Antagonist: Probably the only one in the series. The team is trying to save the company and redeem a man who has the potential for good, the mark is suffering from a guilt complex as opposed to being motivated by greed or callousness, and even Charles's assistant, who provides some obstacles to the team, is just concerned (somewhat justifiably) for his boss's welfare and mental health. Notably, it's one of the rare episodes of the series where no one is sent to jail or publicly disgraced.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: At the end of the episode, Dodgson shows up a reformed man, wearing a headset and a black turtleneck.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Both Hardison and Elliot are furious with Nate when he wants to run the White Rabbit, to change the mark as a person by some mix of brainwashing and mind screwing techniques. Elliot notes the mark hasn't actually broken any laws and isn't stealing from the company, so he feels they don't have a moral ground to go after him.
