A young, promising transgender author is found murdered and the investigation leads to two elderly, reclusive brothers (Judd Hirsch and Wallace Shawn) who have both been keeping a terrible case of child sexual abuse secret for several decades. The case becomes extremely distressing for Rollins and Benson, who are both mothers, especially Rollins who is almost ready to give birth.
