Summary
Following Hiromi's supposed demise to Olteca in #21, Hiromi miraculously manages to survive and decides to walk back home to the Miyagi Prefecture.
Tropes
- Cliffhanger: At the end of the special, Hiromi decides to be open with his mom and say that his amnesia is a lie, only to see his mom collapsed at their doorway.
- Faking Amnesia: Hiromi claims early into the special that he doesn't remember anything after falling off a cliff and decided to quit Fenix. He uses this same excuse to rebuff Daiji and Ikki when they come to visit, but it's just an act. That said, he truly doesn't want to return to Fenix because of his shell shock.
- Helpful Hallucination: Hiromi sees Wakabayashi as a ghost who questions why Hiromi won't return to Fenix.
- Internal Reveal: Daiji reveals in the first couple of minutes that Fenix managed to find Hiromi.
- Kids Are Cruel: Two examples:
- When Hiromi was younger, he was bullied by a bunch of kids in the prefecture.
- Yuki, one youth who lives in the prefecture, is also bullied by some other kids to the extent he was being made to steal strawberries from a nearby farm.
