Kaeloo asks her friends to play with her, but they're all too busy. Especially Stumpy, who is trying his hardest to become tanned and muscular.
"Let's Play Hot-Cold" contains the following tropes:
- Go Fetch: Mr. Cat throws a yogurt in the air and Quack Quack runs to catch it. After he catches it, Mr. Cat activates the bombs he had hidden near the place where he threw the yogurt.
- Halfway Plot Switch: The episode starts with Stumpy trying to make himself look tanned and muscular, while Kaeloo tries to find someone to play with. Halfway through, the plot becomes about the others teaching Stumpy how to impress girls.
- Insane Troll Logic: Stumpy tries to tan himself by setting up a bunch of barbecue grills to accelerate global warming and make the planet hotter.
- Interrupted Suicide: Stumpy thinks he's not going to be able to impress a girl he likes, so he tries to hang himself. Before he can do it, his friends talk him down and offer him advice on how to impress the girl.
- Long List: Kaeloo's list of qualities a boy needs to impress a girl.
- Silly Walk: Mr. Cat does this while teaching Stumpy how to impress girls.
- Skyward Scream: Stumpy lets one out when he realizes he can't impress Ursula.Stumpy: URSULAAAAA!
