Recap / Justice League Action S 1 E 8 Selfie Help

Go To

Space Cabbie lands in the Watchtower, after giving Batman a ride from New Genesis to Earth. The cost is $38,000; however, Space Cabbie offers to accept one selfie as alternative (and clearly preferred) payment. Batman responds that his wallet is upstairs and disappears before Space Cabbie can snap a picture.

Leaving the cab, Space Cabbie momentarily thinks he's spotted Batman, but it turns out to be Booster Gold in a bathrobe that resembles Batman's costume. Booster Gold offers to let him take a selfie, and whips out a can of his endorsed drink Golden Fizz. When Space Cabbie objects to having an advertisement inserted into his selfie, Booster Gold offers to take the selfie without it for five dollars. Space Cabbie then gets a couple more selfies with Superman and Black Canary, with Booster popping up in the background holding up his soda can each time.

Space Cabbie hears a loud boom from the door near him. Unable to stifle his curiosity, he enters the room to discover Wonder Woman in battle with Parademons. In the ensuing fight, a Parademon launches black-slime at Diana with a canon. The slime plasters itself over Diana's mouth and wraps itself around her head, gagging her. As the stunned Diana fidgets with her gag, a second blast of slime binds her arms together.

The bound and gagged Wonder Woman is easily overwhelmed by the Parademons. Much to her surprise, Cabby comes to her aid, using his camera's flash to blind the Parademons while she frees herself. With her arms unbound, she finally defeats the Parademons. Landing, Diana tears off her gag, ends the battle simulation and thanks the intergalactic cab driver for rescuing her. He responds that he actually only wanted a selfie as Batman returns with money to pay him for his ride. The episode ends with Space Cabbie snapping a picture of himself and Wonder Woman... and, ironically, one of Batman returning with his fare money.

  • Bound and Gagged: Wonder Woman, as mentioned in the main page and the synopsis above.
  • Product Placement: Booster Gold inserts a can of Golden Fizz into several of Space Cabbie's selfies, including a couple with other heroes.
  • Virtual Training Simulation: The battle between Wonder Woman and the Parademons turns out to be one. She's impressed that Space Cabbie, not knowing it was just simulation, was willing to charge in to help her.
