Superman asks for help from Firestorm in taking down Metallo and his kryptonite heart. However, Ronnie had forgot the formula to kryptonite (he admits he didn't pay attention during the lecture for it) and ends up changing the green kryptonite into different colors instead: anger causing red kryptonite, amnesia inducing gold kryptonite, personality splitting black kryptonite, and gender bending pink kryptonite. Eventually, Ronnie remembers where he wrote the formula down on him and transmutes the kryptonite into lead, taking down Metallo. Superman then asks Firestorm to not tell Batman about what happened... but Ronnie is already texting the Caped Crusader about what happened.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Gold Kryptonite in the comics (at least when it was introduced) stripped Kryptonians of their powers, permanently. Here it just causes memory loss.
    • Also, Pink Kryptonite in the comics turned Superman gay. Here it turns him into a girl.
  • Continuity Nod: Back in Field Trip, Firestorm had to learn the chemical formula for kryptonite but is quickly overwhelmed by how complicated it turned out to be. True to form, Ronnie has trouble transmuting it properly because he can't remember the formula.
  • Gender Bender: Superman is turned into a girl under the effects of pink kryptonite.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: After Metallo is dealt with, Superman asks Ronnie to never tell Batman about this... but it turns out he already did.
