Jorel's brother records a homemade news report at the frontyard of his house for a school project.
This episode provides examples of:
- Anachronism Stew: Within the episode itself. One of the recordings for the news report's intro has the date of 1991, however in the classroom, there is a calendar with the date of December 2015 (ironically, more than one year after the episode's original air date).
- All for Nothing: In the end of the episode, the camera ends up getting broken, deleting all recordings of Jorel's brother's news report.
- Black Comedy Animal Cruelty: When Rambozo gets out of his car, the camera zooms on his feet to show him nearly stepping on a snail, but the snail dodges the foot just on time. However, Rambozo's other foot ends up squashing the snail anyway.
- Comedic Underwear Exposure: In the scene where Jorel keeps kicking a grain of rice over and over while his fangirls are seen cheering for him, at one point, Catiane throws herself at the ground and rolls out of excitement, prominently exposing her panties under her skirt.
- Characterization Marches On:
- In this episode, Jorel is shown to actually enjoy all the attention he receives, appears to feel supperior to his younger brother and, at one point, even kicks him out of the report to brag to his fans. In later episode, he is actually portrayed as being respectful and loving of his brother, and isn't as much as a show-off as the love everyone has for him actually seems to disturb him.
- Granny Juju does not speak in actual sentences here, instead just repeting the same phrases and words over and over, or just being non-verbal.
- Collector of the Strange: In one scene, Jorel's brother showcases some of Jorel's trophies, including some weird ones like "Winner at jumping over dog poop".
- Early-Installment Weirdness:
- This episode and the previous one are the only two in the whole series to not have an ending card, most likely due to being the first to be produced.
- The two students seen watching Jorel's brother's presentation at the classroom in the last scene are random kids who never appear again in the series, rather than being estabilished characters.
- Literal-Minded: When Edson says he needs a "banana connector", Granny Juju offers him an actual banana.
- Never Trust a Title: Despite the official English title for the episode being "Backyard News", the news report actually takes place at the front yard.
- Toilet Humor: While Granny Juju is trying to unclog the toilet to retrieve her favorite shoe which got flushed, a giant piece of poop comes out of the toilet, but is then revealed to actually be Gesonel in his disguise.
- Vocal Evolution: In Wonderlay's first line, he has a very different, deeper voice, but in his other lines in the episode, he speaks with his usual voice.
