- Annoying Younger Sibling / Teasing Parent: Defied. Hana makes sure that Shingi and Komaru don't tease Makoto and Kyoko while they're home on Christmas vacation as not to embarrass either one of them.
- Guest-Star Party Member: A non-video game example. In the present, Hana, Shingi, and Komaru end up sleeping over with Makoto, Kyoko, and Kiki throughout the mini-arc to help talk about Makoto and Kyoko's Christmas vacation.
- Forgotten First Meeting: Hana notes that she felt like she had met Kyoko before, not remembering their brief interaction in the prologue.
- Friendly Tickle Torture: Kiki gets tickled by Shingi and Komaru while Makoto gets tickled by Kyoko and Hana.
- Last-Name Basis: Jin tells Makoto that he can call him "Mr. Kirigiri" outside of Hope's Peak.
