- Anti-Role Model: Devlin is a painkiller junkie that's constantly getting himself hurt in increasingly contrived ways and he even gives terrible advice in his already dodgy instructional videos he starred in. The whole case is based around a kid being put into a full-body cast trying to emulate his stunts.

- Insanity Defense: Harvey makes the case that due to the mix of injuries and prescription addictions his job requires of him, Devlin is not mentally sound enough to be held accountable for Bobby emulating his stunts.

- Psychic Static: Mentok isn't able to "take" Devlin's mind because of a metal plate in his head, getting nothing but static.
