A Visit to Sunny Azkaban
After the Weasleys' guardianship is formalised, Harry explains Sirius' situation to them. Mr Weasley accompanies him to visit Sirius in Azkaban; Sirius is not in a good state, but is able to tell them enough that Mr Weasley recognises Scabbers as Peter, and brings Kingsley Shacklebolt in to capture and arrest him. Ginny comforts Harry in the aftermath, and he's glad she's so much more comfortable around him.
Harry also visits Mr Weasley's office, and is appalled by his cavalier treatment of a confiscated firearm. Harry steals the gun when his back is turned, for Mr Weasley's safety.
- Bottomless Magazines: Justified; the Glock pistol has a spell on it that will conjure bullets for the gun as they are used up.
- Internal Reveal: Scabbers is outed as Pettigrew two years earlier than the original timeline.
- Last Stand: Harry recalls in the old timeline how Mad-Eye Moody, leading the non-Dementor Azkaban guards, rallied them to stand against Voldemort, killing so many that "Constant vigilance!" became an easy way to be executed by Death Eaters.
- Reckless Gun Usage: Mr Weasley demonstrates how the confiscated Glock was somehow wrecked by the charms cast on it — by holding it near his head and unsuccessfully trying to pull the trigger. Harry, sweating, recognises that the only reason it didn't fire was because he didn't put his finger far enough through the trigger guard.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Mad-Eye is of the "died later than in the source material" variety since he was killed after the massacre at Hogwarts in this timeline.
