- Crazy-Prepared: Of course the trailer has a bottle of the necessary tree frog venom. It even has a needle taped to the bottle for the necessary ear piercing.
- Ear Ache: The only way to avoid being zapped is to use a paste made out of tree frog venom, applied into a freshly-pierced hole in the ear lobe. Nick is not pleased.
- Psycho Electro: Stetson Donovan is a Matança Zumbido, an electric eel-type Wesen who can deliver fatal electric shocks. Since using this power to murder his wife and her lover, he's become a crazy homeless guy haunting their old house.
- Shout-Out: Lily works at the Overlook Restaurant, possibly a reference to the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.
