Jessica threatens to cut the neighborhood caroling this year due to last year's bad performance. Martin becomes suspicious of Honey when she goes to a movie without him. Nicole struggles with her first girl crush.
- 555: After thinking Nicole's struck out with the coffee girl, it turns out said girl actually wrote down her phone number on Nicole's cup, which starts with 555.
- Bad Boss: Jessica encourages Holly, a professional voice coach and former college roommate to one of the moms in Jessica's HOA that's in town due to a recent break-up, to "make cuts" with the neighborhood caroling group. After Jessica doesn't make the cut herself, Holly points out how toxic she was during everyone else's audition, including pretending to hang herself at one point. Riled up, Jessica ends up firing Holly, which leads to the whole group disbanding until Jessica fails at being a solo act and has to apologize to everyone.
- Cannot Spit It Out: Nicole's been trying for weeks to attract a girl named Jackie that's working at a local coffee place. She recruits Eddie and Emery to try and figure out if she's liked back, and to think of the best way to flirt back if so. However, even after the boys come up with a whole haiku for her to gift the girl, Nicole just ends up ordering another coffee...and sees that, thankfully, Jackie's making the first move.
- Christmas Episode: Jessica's plot is all about Christmas caroling, and Louis uses Jessica's "Lao Ma" Santa outfit to sneak to the theater and watch Titanic (1997) with Honey a second time.
- Guest Star: Paula Abdul plays Holly, the professional voice coach.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: After encouraging Holly to "make cuts" with the caroling group, Jessica's own audition doesn't make the cut.
- Match Cut: When Jessica auditions for the yearly caroling, she sings "My Heart Will Go On", which leads to multiple transitions between herself singing, Nicole hearing the music in her head while looking at her crush Jackie at "Greenie's Coffee", and Louis and Honey hearing the song being sung in Titanic (1997).
- Meaningful Name: A woman named Holly is asked to help manage Christmas carolers.
- Mistaken for Cheating: Martin suspects Honey is being unfaithful, but she just went to the movies with Louis, and left Martin out because they were watching Titanic (1997) and Martin's had problems with sinking boats in movies ever since his Navy days. Louis and Honey debate about not upsetting Martin further...and decide to catch a second showing while in disguise, though Martin ends up catching them in the act (and then deciding to watch the film regardless of his gripes if his wife and best friend enjoy it that much). Martin ends up having secondary doubts when she sees Honey's prepared a gift for "Big Daddy", which is not one of her nicknames for him...until it turns out she's pregnant and he's going to be a father.
- Must Have Caffeine: While helping out Nicole, Eddie and Emery (and Allison, who Eddie calls in for additional help on relationship advice) end up having their first cups of coffee and getting a major buzz.
- Stating the Simple Solution: Allison asks why Nicole doesn't simply talk to Jackie for a straight answer instead of relying on her friends to deduce the true significance of why Jackie's putting smiley faces on Nicole's coffee orders. Eddie calls the idea stupid, and then apologizes, blaming the snippiness on his newfound coffee addiction.
