Frasier thinks he's finally solved his father's old cold case.

- Be Careful What You Wish For: At the beginning, Frasier decides to go out and seize the night while his dad is too busy trying to solve a murder that hasn't been resolved in 20 years and states that won't do it alone. Out comes Eddie with a leash.
- The Dog Was the Mastermind: Frasier deduces that trained monkey committed the kill. It turns out that it was a Corrupt Cop.
- Noodle Incident: Niles claims that the last time they took dad out, a restaurant lost one of the stars.
- Poor Communication Kills: Due to Frasier thinking that it was a monkey who committed the kill, there's some confusion when Martin and his cop buddies ask Frasier who he deduced the killer was.
- That Came Out Wrong: Daphne says that Martin "knocked her up" when he woke up earlier. It's an archaic British idom for "woke me up" which Frasier is very confused by.
