• Batman Gambit: Biggie knows that Fillmore and the Safety Patrol are on to his racket, so when he asks to arrange for a meeting with the person who wants him to lose the open, Biggie instead anonymously tips off Ham Beamont, president of a volunteer organization that plays mini-golf with elder citizens, that "Cornelius Buenevista" is harassing older golf players, knowing that he's Principal Folsom's nephew and that the Safety Patrol will conduct a sting operation. Folsom shuts down the investigation on the mini-golf corruption when Ham is traumatized by the experience.
• Disproportionate Retribution: After their coach denied Fillmore a tryout for the school's mini-golf team because of his record, Fillmore challenged the team to a match and destroyed their confidence with mind tricks while taking all of their belongings.
• Hoist by His Own Petard: Biggie handcuffs himself to Ingrid to try to prevent her from interfering with his attempt to sabotage Fillmore at the eighteenth hole, and he boasts about how solid the cuffs are. When the sabotage fails and he instead tries to have Fillmore disqualified for playing under an alias, he's unable to escape when his racketeering is exposed and Fillmore and Ingrid bring him in.
• Justice by Other Legal Means: After Folsom cancels the investigation, Ingrid realizes the Safety Patrol can still stop Biggie by just letting Fillmore continue competing in the tournament and win so that Biggie will lose all of his bets.
• Mama Bear: Darkly invoked by Biggie who gets the Safety Patrol to unknowingly traumatize Ham Beaumont, who's Folsom's nephew. In her rage over what the Patrol did to her nephew, she orders them to cut the mini-golf investigation.
  Folsom: SILENCE!
  Vallejo: Uh, we weren't talking.
  Folsom: Hmm. You weren't talking. It's like my anger is displaced, as if it needs to find a proper channel... oh, right, the reason you're here! Ham. Ham is my nephew. HAM IS THE KID YOU TRAUMATIZED!
• Manipulative Bastard: Biggie has his goons threaten mini-golf players to take dives so he can rack up more comics for his collection, and to get the Safety Patrol off his back he tricks them into doing a sting operation against someone who turns out to be Principal Folsom's nephew. The poor kid ends up scarred for life and Folsom is so enraged she cancels the investigation.
• Mini-Golf Episode: The episode revolves around mini-golf. Like everything else in the series, it's framed as Serious Business, with X Middle School having a mini-golf team that treats the game as seriously as professional golf.
• Only Six Faces: During the first day of the Open, one of the spectators looks just like Ingrid in a different outfit. It could be her undercover but it is never stated in show if it is actually her.
• Shout-Out: Fillmore, disguised as "Cornelius Buenavista", bears a strong resemblance to Tiger Woods.
• Throwing the Fight: Biggie wins big bets on mini-golf tournaments by bribing golfers to underperform. And if that doesn't work, he simply threatens them.
