Recap / Fate Grand Order Event 62 Halloween Rising

Go To

The Queen of Dust and the Disciple of Darkness

The protagonist wakes up in a mysterious cave, fresh off the alert of a new Halloween Singularity. They soon discover Elisabeth Bathory is no longer in her Castle Csjete, now working as a washerwoman singing for her prince. But... now that her Puppy is here, it's time to hit the road as Cinderella Elisabeth Bathory in all her new fripperies and find her true Prince Charming to help her solve this Singularity and get her castle back (for the third time)! The stage is set for a new Elly-flavored fairy tale to unravel in this land.

Tropes:

  • Beat the Curse Out of Him: Four of the Seven Mercs (Watanabe no Tsuna, Bedivere, Chevalier d'Eon, and Robin Hood) get brainwashed and are compelled to attack the party. The only way to save them is to use Elisabeth's singing in combat to break the spell.
  • Debut Queue: Elisabeth (Cinderella) becomes available as a 4* welfare Rider. Zenobia and Jacques de Molay join the summon pool as a 4* Archer and a limited 5* Foreigner, respectively.
  • Deus ex Machina: Invoked by Molay, who describes Shub-Niggurath as "a character who comes out of nowhere to bring the story to an end."
  • Fractured Fairytale: The primary theme of the event as Servants are randomly assigned fairytale roles regardless of how well they fit, the most prominent of them being how the seven Servants assigned to the seven dwarfs are regular-sized, aren't miners, and even lampshade they're more like seven mercenaries stuck living in a tiny cottage that doesn't have bigger furniture.
  • Multiple Endings: Choosing to adhere to fairytale tropes all the way to the end will trigger a bad ending where an unexpected god that Jacques de Molay doesn't worship shows up and Mind Rapes the party. Breaking away from them is the canon good ending where the protagonist manages to resolve the Singularity.
