Recap / Drake And Josh Episode 56 Dance Contest

Go To

Drake and Josh enter a dance contest, Josh to get extra credit and Drake to avoid getting held back for failing gym.

  • Catfight: Both Emily and Vilga do this twice. The second time it gets both of them disqualified from the dance contest.
  • Character Check: Drake has treated Josh a lot nicer since their fight in "Josh Is Done", but this episode has him bribe a girl to be his dance partner with Josh's camera. To his credit, he was risking repeating 11th grade and the dance contest was his only chance, so it was more desperation than being inconsiderate.
  • Comically Small Bribe: Drake steals Josh's dance partner Emily by giving her Josh's digital camera.
  • Dislikes the New Guy: Drake and Emily both dislike Josh's new dance partner Vilga due to her rude attitude, especially Emily who physically fights her.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Drake and Josh win the dance contest saving Drake from repeating 11th grade and making Josh the new valedictorian.
  • Jaw Drop: Both Audrey and Megan do this when seeing by TV, Drake and Josh dancing together in the contest.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Vilga slightly, as despite being rude to Drake and Emily (whom became dance partners by ditching Josh), she slaps Josh when he says he feels nervous to get him more confident before going to dance.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Emily is this to Josh as she left him to become Drake's dance partner in the contest for his digital camera without any remorse and smugly tells him that Drake will win because he's dancing with her.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Josh replaces Emily with a european dancer named Vilga, who is rude to everyone, especially Emily and slaps Josh when he admits being nervous at the dance contest.
  • The Reveal: Drake is revealed by his gym teacher to have been absent from his gym classes for four months, and is at risk of repeating the school year.
  • Unsportsmanlike Gloating: Vilga to Drake and Emily, stating they'll lose.
