Recap / Digimon Ghost Game E61 "Resurrection"

Go To

The older brother of Ruli's friend Kotoha, Toru had his fiancee Manami killed in a lab accident days before their wedding. However, Manami's corpse began mysterious moving on its own, causing Toru to believe that she was resurrected and bring the body back home. Problems begin to arise when hauntings and nightmares plague Kotoha routinely and Manami's corpse moves around on her own, leading her to call the main cast to her doorstep. As they later find out, the sheer severity of the incident goes beyond some pesky hauntings...

  • Bloodless Carnage: When Moon=Millenniumon kills Manami on-screen, the murder is fairly explicit and isn't obscured by anything. No blood shows up when the Digimon slams her right into the wall back-first, though.
  • Degraded Boss: Millenniumon's line is generally reserved for Final Boss or Climax Boss opponents. Here he's a Monster of the Week, though being an Ultimate and all, he's still considerably powerful and fits firmly into the Elite Mook territory like its equal brethren. It's also by far the most imposing, withstanding a beating from two of the main digimon's ultimate forms on decent terms and only being defeated (though only reverted to suspended animation, not killed) through a convenient weak point.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: When Toru brings Manami's reanimated corpse home, he delusionally believes that she was resurrected and toys with the corpse for ten days until his sister Kotoha can no longer bear it and called the protagonists to their house. It's like a G-rated version of necrophilia.
  • Downer Ending: Things don't go well for Toru. His fiancee was murdered by an insane, world-wiping abomination of a Digimon, said killer reanimated her body and attracted a large group of Virus Digimon to haunt his house, and when the group defeat Zeed=Millenniumon, her consciousness is dispelled with said Digimon and he was left with nothing but the cold, dead body of his fiancee. Poor guy.
  • For Want Of A Nail: Judging from the severity of the incident, if Kotoha didn't call the protagonists to investigate, the world will be annihilated.
  • Haunted House: Kotoha's house becomes this after Toru brought Manami's body back and a huge flock of Evilmon and Tsumemon start pestering her home. Eerie giggles can be heard alongside kitchen utensils shaking themselves, a group of Tsumemon can be briefly seen at the ceiling before vanishing, and anyone going to sleep will have horrible nightmares caused by Evilmon's presence. It's implied that these hauntings happen because all the evil Digimon are being drawn upon by Moon=Millenniumon's evil emitting from Manami's body.
