- Actor Allusion: In a bid to make herself the kind of girl the UnSub would murder, Anna Begley does her hair like Shelly Cole's other famous role, Madeline Lynn on Gilmore Girls.
- I Cannot Self-Terminate: Anna Begley takes desperate steps to ensure that the UnSub stays out of prison in the hopes that she will become a victim of his, as she can't bring herself to end her own life.
- Jack the Ripoff: Anna Begley emulates the UnSub in order to get him released, so she can coerce him into killing her.
