Plot Parallel: Jennifer struggles with sleep deprivation as her second baby is colicky. The Unsub of the episode deprives his victims of sleep as a form of torture.
Sleep Deprivation: JJ's baby son is colicky, so she hasn't slept well for a while and is very tired throughout the episode. Either despite this or because of this, she realizes the UnSub is using caffeine to keep his victims awake, putting them into a state similar to his own when he lost his daughter.
Witness Protection: It's discussed in the beginning for Garcia, as she's targeted by hitmen, but ultimately she just gets police protection.
