More threats arise in the Immortal Alliance Conference, and Shen Qingqiu enters the arena to help.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In-Universe; when Mobei-Jun appears near the conclusion of the Endless Abyss subplot, Shen Qingqiu is confused since he's not supposed to appear for another five-hundred chapters in the original novel.
  • Brick Joke: In Episode 2, Shen Qingqiu wonders why they use horse carriages to travel instead of their swords. In this episode, he finally gets to fly on his word for the first time... although it turns out that he gets sword-sick pretty easily.
  • Cliffhanger: The post-credits scene aside, the episode still ends on one as Shen Qingqiu, Luo Binghe, and the other disciples escape from the ghost-head spiders, with what happens next being left for the viewer to guess.
  • Eyes Always Averted: When Shen Qingqiu stabs Luo Binghe, he looks away and closes his eyes.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: When Luo Binghe is revealed to have demon blood and gets threatened at sword-point by Shen Qingqiu, he pleads with Shen Qingqiu to not abandon him.
  • The Stinger: The post-credits scene features a white-haired character walking menacingly towards the main characters, and Shen Qingqiu being forced to do the inevitable and push Luo Binghe into the Endless Abyss after the latter's demon ancestry is exposed.
  • Timed Mission: The System initiates a timer to force Shen Qingqiu to follow the original plot and have Luo Binghe fall into the Endless Abyss.
  • Viewers Are Geniuses: That incantation that Shen Qingqiu recites near the end of the episode? It's the first two verses of the poem Ji Gu (擊鼓), one of the most famous love poems in China.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: No matter how reluctant Shen Qingqiu is, the System leaves him with no choice but to push Luo Binghe down into the Endless Abyss. With death being the only other option, Shen Qingqiu does the deed.
